Coat of Hopes

A group of pilgrims is to sleep in our church this Friday 23rd. It is made up of 11 people, Christian, Jewish, and Buddhist, who are walking with a cloak, a symbol of hope. It is made of many embroidered squares, originally created for COP 26 when it was held in Glasgow, and since has been walked throughout Britain. The current walk is from Newcastle to York.

Kaye has kindly agreed to meet them in the afternoon, and provide whatever they need, though we believe this is minimal, as they are pilgrims and bring their own bed-mats!

They wish to have a gathering for them to share awareness about climate change, but also to share hope. If at all possible, please come along at 5pm on Friday, and bring as many friends and neighbours as possible. Spread the word – particularly among young folk who are concerned about the world – pastoral visitors share with your group if you can. This would be a good encouragement for them, and show our care for God’s world.

In Christ’s love.
